Poetry: Canada

There was a room

where only the rings

remained

shining tears in the dark.

and letters sent home

spoke of a land

where frost didn’t burn

the way it did here

men circled the bonfire

dressed in cloths of

bygone empires

crying.

i speak to you,

to find home

where homes

are not made to last.
